Tell us about your self:

My name is Michyl Collins & I’m originally from Berkeley,California born & raised in the bay area. I started my modeling career in February 2010 after I was asked to walk the runway in a fashion show! It has been a nonstop journey from there!

How have you obtain this level of success in a short period of time?

The secret to obtaining this level of success in a short time is vision, drive & determination!

What are some obstacles that you face?

One of the obstacles I see is that not everyone in the industry sees the true value of models. We bring all these wonderful products to life and market them to the public which directly effects a companies sales. A big misconception in our industry is that we just look pretty and smile but I can assure you, It requires a lot of skill, professionalism, reliability, determination and hard work.

What advice would you give someone who is aspiring to become a Plus Model?:

A successful plus model should definitely have a diverse portfolio, their own sense of style, fantastic attitude,strong determination & absolute confidence!

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

When I look into the mirror I see a BEAUTIFUL,CONFIDENT,SEXY,CARING & GIVING WOMAN.

Who are some of your favorite Designers?

Some of my favorite designers are DIOR, Monif C. Jaspher Knowles, LaToya Skinner & Kim Antoinette Ross. I have worked with some of these designers & hopefully will have the opportunity to work with them all someday.

What are some other projects you are working on?

My modeling career is going full force but outside of that I’m working with http://www.plusforus.com. I’m the “Director of Modeling” for PFU & I also have a blog column called “GLAMORSIZED”.

Basically, PlusForUs.com is the Google for all things full-figured and now reaches 82 countries! I am also very excited to be producing my own fashion show right here in the bay area…its in the works and will be coming soon!
